The purpose of this project is to work together as a region to complete a Channel Condition Inventory, to engage community members and build capacity in mapping, channel assessments, event and engagement planning, and team building, and for regional Nations and local stewardship groups to collaboratively prioritize watersheds for further assessment, restoration, and monitoring work. The primary goal of this project is to collaboratively address regional needs by undertaking a Channel Condition Inventory. This initiative serves as the cornerstone for subsequent restoration planning and monitoring activities. The secondary objective is to involve community members, fostering skill development through mentorship in mapping, channel assessments, event planning, community engagement, G.I.S., and team building. The ultimate accomplishment involves acquiring knowledge from Elders and skilled professionals, empowering trained youth to actively contribute and perpetuate these efforts. The third goal centers on fostering collaboration among Nations and local stewardship groups within the region, strategically prioritizing watersheds for further assessment, restoration, or monitoring. The aim is to optimize existing resources and amplify collective efforts for enhanced effectiveness.
