This project is undertaking research and monitoring work in the Coldwater and Nicola Rivers to better understand the impact of climate emergency events, such as catastrophic heat domes, floods, and wildfires- are having on these waterways. The project is testing and monitoring overall water quality, to inform local planning and emergency management response. This will include monitoring at Spius Creek, and the other at Nooaitch (downstream of Spius Creek). Spius Creek was severely damaged by the 2021 floods and has the potential to affect water quality in the Nicola River.
