This project, initiated by the Casyex, a Yihk of the Gidimt’en Clan in the Wet’suwet’en Nation, is the Lhudis Bin Yintah Restoration 2023-24 Project. The aim is to facilitate Wet’suwet’en cultural health, education, and territorial stewardship on the Lhudis Bin territory. Casyex leadership, led by Woos and Woos ancestors, is supported by Elders, knowledge holders, and Yihk members. The project seeks to develop and implement the Casyex Whiggus approach, combining Wet’suwet’en laws with traditional knowledge and western science. Short and long-term goals are rooted in the foundational Whiggus concept, emphasizing sacred balance and interdependence, along with Wet’suwet’en law promoting belonging, respect, gratitude, and good health. In essence, the Whiggus concept, aligned with Wet’suwet’en law, ensures cultural health, well-being, and the integrity of lands, waters, and resources for Casyex Peoples'.
